Audi Hits 10 Million!

Audi celebrated as the 10 millionth midsize vehicle rolled off the assembly line in early October at their factory in Neckarsulm, Germany.

A Misano Red Audi A4 with a black and alabaster-white interior and a 333-horsepower V6 engine was the lucky car to represent four generations of both the Audi 80 and Audi A4 since 1972.  Some of the innovations introduced over the 39 year history of the Audi 80 and A4 include the quattro drivetrain with self-locking differential, fully galvanized vehicle bodies, S tronic dual clutch transmissions, and the more recent torque vectoring sport differential.

Audi has long considered its midsize vehicles the heart of the brand.  The Audi A4 is a best-seller, thanks to its sophisticated technology and excellent quality. Audi has been producing the A4 model family at its main site in Ingolstadt, Germany since 1994 and, since 2007, in Neckarsulm as well. Earlier this year Audi celebrated building its five millionth A4 that also happened to be finished in Misano Red.

The face-lifted 2013 A4 sedan and wagon arrive in the U.S. next year, along with the S4 and A4 Allroad.
